Maayan – Historical Fantasy Comic Series
Maayan is an original historical fantasy comic series set in 15th century Calicut, a vibrant era along the Malabar coast shaped by trade, culture, and powerful kingdoms.
Blending history, mythology, and the martial traditions of Kerala, the story unfolds in a world where Kalari warriors, secret orders, ancient knowledge, and political intrigue shape the destiny of the land. As events unfold across the region, characters are drawn into a deeper conflict involving hidden forces, forgotten traditions, and the struggle to protect a legacy that could change the course of history.
Published by Maayan Publications and created by Carmond Infinity Creative Studio, the series introduces a new comic universe rooted in Kerala’s cultural heritage while presenting it through the dynamic storytelling style of modern graphic novels.
The Maayan series was officially launched at Kochi Comic Con 2026, where it was unveiled by Malayalam actress Anarkali Marakkar, marking the beginning of a new comic storytelling journey from Kerala.
Maayan is envisioned as a multi-volume comic saga spanning approximately 25 volumes, gradually expanding the story world, characters, and conflicts that define this historical fantasy universe. New issues will be released regularly as the story continues to grow.
